Border Collies

In Border Collies there are three common diseases which we are now fortunate enough to have access to a DNA test. These are collie eye anomaly, CEA, which is a defect in the development of the eye, neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL), which is a nerve degenerative disease with onset of symptoms about 16 months, and trapped neutrophil syndrome (TNS), which is a defect in the immune system.

It is now possible to DNA test Border Collies for their status, - ie Affected, Carrier or Clear of these diseases.
